Technology is Amazing

I ran across this link today. I love, in particular, how the images look like impressionistic paintings. The world has changes so much in 10 years. I wonder where we'll be in the next 20.

For some reason, this would not imbed. I will investigate. Check out the link- it's worth it.

Migration

After Facebook's new updates, I've been motivated to move much of the content I would post there to here. I guess their designers never learned that simplicity is the key to good design. Anyway, I found a link today online about a book that looks very interesting regarding to standing up to injustices. As a flaming liberal, this of course, interests me. As for the art making, I have been quite busy- just not busy posting updates. There is an event at Spring Street Studios October 1st from 5-9PM and Oct. 2nd from 11-5PM. The building will be open both days. The first day(night) will be more like a party with free drinks throughout the building. My studio is very easy to find on the first floor near the staircase to the second floor. I also have a very distinctive sign. Anyway, look for pics soon of new work.

Thought before bed:

I was just reviewing the artist roster for the Bayou City Art Festival and was reminded about how little art out there impresses me. I am hard to please when it comes to art.

End of March

I just wanted to give a quick update on the goings on in my world. I am very close to finishing my next painting, which happens to be of one of my friends who attends UT in Austin, TX. I have also signed up for a vendor subscription to The Red Vault website which will hopefully bring attention to my work to local Interior Designers. And last, but not least, I have been invited by my friend Joe to show my art at his house which will be on the East Montrose Home Tour in mid-April. Things are moving right along.

2011 Annual Starbucks Art Auction

I wanted to write a small entry on how much money my donation raised at the art auction benefitting AIDS Foundation Houston. I donated three of my 4"x4"x4" Bird Cubes that I created in 2009 this year. I visited the auction briefly last Friday night and at the time my piece(s) - it was auctioned as a set- only had two bids. Later in the evening when the bidding closed at 9PM a friend texted me that the bidding on my pieces went up to $250! That is right about where my painting last year sold for. I was super excited that I helped raise so much for a good cause.
